Primary role is to be a Senior Analyst in the Research team, focused on Alternative Investments, which supports the investment advisory business. Ability to lead both investment and operational due diligence meetings. Preparing recommendations to be presented to investment committees. Mentoring junior analysts and ensuring that analytical reports are delivered to a high standard.

 

Experience:

  • 5 – 7 + years’ relevant experience in investment research or other analytical role in at a financial institution or investment consulting firm;
  • Knowledge of investment management strategies and analytical techniques
  • Experience in analysing hedge funds and/or private equity/illiquid strategies preferred;
  • Strong financial statement analysis skills;
  • Solid experience writing high quality research reports for external consumption;
  • Knowledge of UK pension fund market and/or UK insurance market beneficial.

Education:

  • Top class undergraduate degree or equivalent from a leading university;
  • Qualified or part-qualified accounting, CFA, CAIA or Actuarial qualification preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think laterally;
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to independently carry out and manage both investment and operational due diligence meetings;
  • Technologically adept and able to work with proprietary research systems;
  • Strong attention to detail;

  • Strong people skills and team player.

Job Title:  Junior Analyst

The Junior Analyst will support our research on tax-advantaged investments as a member of the research and analytical team and assist with a variety of high-impact projects for institutional clients.

Examples of our analysts’ recent work

Recently analysts have written in-depth reports on private equity as well as tax-advantaged investing in film; assisted with operational due diligence on high-profile hedge funds; built an asset allocation model for a leading wealth manager; and managed the transition of multi-million pound pension fund assets.

Eligibility

Candidates must have an upper-second level degree from a good university, ideally in finance, mathematics, engineering, sciences or business. Candidates must be physically located and eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom.
