We are recruiting for a short term placement for a junior analyst supporting the research and analytical team who engage in research into tax advantaged investments.

Minimum Requirements: Recently completed a degree in finance, mathematics, engineering, sciences or business.

Fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and experienced analyst to work within an institutional investment advisory and tax-efficient investment research business, located in the heart of the City of London.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Primary role is to be a lead Analyst for investment research projects and due diligence of Alternative Investments (initial focus likely to be on UK Tax-Advantaged Investments (such as VCT, EIS, SEIS and BPR products);
  • Writing analytical reports for both institutional and wholesale retail marketclient base;
  • Ability to independently carry out and manage both investment and operational due diligence meetings;
  • Preparing investment recommendations to be presented to internal committees and senior management;
  • Mentoring junior analysts and ensuring that analytical reports are delivered to a high standard.

Experience and Knowledge Requirement:

  • 3+ years’ relevant experience in investment research or other analytical role in at a financial institution or consulting firm;
  • Knowledge of alternative investment management strategies, such as Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Private Credit;
  • Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques;
  • Solid experience writing high quality research reports for clients;
  • Preferred experience in Venture Capital fund analysis and structure investment vehicles
  • Preferred knowledge of UK Tax-Advantaged investments

Education:

  • Top class undergraduate degree or equivalent from a leading university;
  • Qualified or part-qualified accounting, CFA or Actuarial qualification (AIA, FIA, FFA) preferred;

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to independently carry out and manage both investment and operational due diligence meetings;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Results-oriented, proactive and highly organised;
  • Strong people skills and team player.
